It's always a good thing to start doing new things. Why not start reading? Reading is a great way to keep yourself preoccupied with a book. You can get transported into a different realm altogether. Reading books can help five you more creativity and give you more inspiration. Reading is also scientifically proven to reduce stress levels by 68% just by reading for 6 minutes a day. Reading also greatly improves your grammar and vocabulary, so when you start doing IGCSE English, narrative writing will become easier for you as you will have a wide range of vocabulary to pick from. Did that still not convince you? Experts claim that reading books boosts your memory capacity enabling it to remember things better. So by reading books, you are actually increasing your memory which makes it helpful when exams are round the corner. Below are my top favorite books that I personally love:
Percy Jackson and the Olympians series (my all time favorite, there’s also a quiz for all the Percy Jackson fans out there)
Harry Potter (Y'all have probably heard of it before, it's REALLY popular and also one of the best ways to get yourself acquainted with reading. There’s also a quiz for this too)
Escape from Mr.Lemoncello’s Library (It’s a really good book with a twist of adventure and a LOT of analysis)
Hunger Games (It’s good but pretty gruesome so read with caution)
Divergent series (This is dystopian like Hunger Games too, but it’s pretty good)
Heroes of Olympus (Sequel to Percy Jackson)
The After Room (This is a really good book which has multiple themes and morals)
I Am Malala (this is a really inspiring book based on a true story that I 100% recommend for everyone)
